My Thoughts on Limited Possession
"Limited Possession" promised a sweet yet angsty ride, and for the most part, it delivered. This omegaverse story centers around a tsundere MC and his exceptionally devoted ML, and I found myself getting quite invested in their journey, even if it wasn't always smooth sailing.
First Impressions
The initial chapters definitely threw me for a loop. The story jumps right into the aftermath of a divorce, and the flashbacks detailing the early relationship were tinged with a heavy dose of angst. The MC's prickly personality was a bit off-putting at first, and I wasn't entirely sure what the ML saw in him, but I was willing to stick around and see if there was more than meets the eye. I'm glad I did.
What Works Well
The biggest strength of "Limited Possession" is the dynamic between the two leads. The ML is truly a green flag, overflowing with patience, tenderness, and unwavering love. Watching him slowly chip away at the MC's defenses was incredibly heartwarming. I appreciated that the story explored the reasons behind the MC's behavior, delving into his difficult past and the pressures of the entertainment industry. Seeing him gradually open up, confront his insecurities, and learn to express his feelings was a genuine highlight. The later chapters are filled with fluff and sweetness, making the earlier angst worthwhile. The side story featuring the ML's brother also added a nice touch.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the novel overall, I can see why some readers might struggle with the MC's character. His tsundere tendencies occasionally veer into bratty territory, and his immaturity can be frustrating. I also felt that the ML's devotion was somewhat unrealistic at times, and I wished the story had explored the reasons behind his feelings more deeply.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some readers may find the MC's jealousy over his own unborn child off-putting. He's afraid that the ML will love the baby more than him, and even jokingly threatens the baby in the womb. While this is played for comedic effect, it might not resonate with everyone.
Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "Limited Possession" is a worthwhile read for those who enjoy sweet, character-driven stories with a touch of angst. The ML's unwavering devotion and the MC's journey of self-discovery make for a compelling narrative. If you're looking for a relatively short and fluffy omegaverse romance, this might just be the novel for you.
