When I, a Mob, Saved the Heroine, I Got a Roundhouse Kick and Passed Out, and My Romantic Comedy Began Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on When I, a Mob, Saved the Heroine, I Got a Roundhouse Kick and Passed Out, and My Romantic Comedy Began This title is quite the mouthful, isn't it? But beyond the quirky name, "When I, a Mob..." actually turned out to be a surprisingly enjoyable read, albeit with a few quirks of its own. ### First Impressions Initially, I was a little hesitant. The premise – a protagonist traumatized by a past rejection who then tries to become a background character – felt a bit… contrived. However, I decided to give it a shot, and I'm glad I did. The story quickly drew me in with its blend of comedy and surprisingly heartfelt moments. ### What Works Well The romance is definitely a highlight. The heroine's affection for the protagonist is portrayed as incredibly strong, almost to a slightly obsessive degree, but it mostly comes across as endearing and comedic. I appreciated how the author built up their relationship, and many readers seem to have enjoyed the support the main leads received from their families. The short chapters also made it easy to breeze through, and the translation quality is commendable. The MC's personality shift, while abrupt, is understandable given his past experiences, and I found myself rooting for him to overcome his insecurities. ### Areas of Concern One of my main concerns is the pacing. While the story is sweet, it feels a bit rushed towards the end. I definitely agree that the ending felt abrupt and could have benefited from a more fleshed-out conclusion. A few minor plot points were left dangling, and I would have loved to see more scenes of the couple together. Also, the MC's initial trauma and subsequent personality change, while understandable, might not resonate with all readers. Some might find his extreme shift a bit jarring or even unhealthy. ### Final Verdict Overall, "When I, a Mob..." is a fun, lighthearted romance that's perfect for a quick and enjoyable read. It's not without its flaws – the rushed ending and somewhat extreme character shifts being the most prominent – but the charming romance and comedic elements more than make up for it. If you're looking for a story with a doting love interest and a protagonist who's just trying to find his place, this might be right up your alley. Just be prepared to turn your brain off a little and enjoy the ride. I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
