Description

Allen, an eight-year-old boy from a poor family in the royal capital, is living a poor but happy life together with his mother. One day, however, memories of his previous life suddenly come back to him and he remembers that he is in a dating sim game, and that the capital will be destroyed by war if he doesn’t do something about it. If this continues, both he and his mother will be killed! With a sense of urgency, he decides to rise to the occasion in order to save his precious mother’s life, as well as saving his favorite character – the villainous young lady Anastasia, the only girl he liked in the game – from her all too tragic and ruinous end. This is the story of a man who isn’t even a character in the game, but who strives with his steely determination and uses all the knowledge he has to turn overcome fate!

Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What! Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What! "Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!" is a web novel I went into with a mix of excitement and trepidation. The premise is appealing: a reincarnated protagonist determined to alter the fate of a villainess in an otome game world. However, mixed reader opinions made me wonder if it could truly deliver. ### First Impressions Initially, the story felt familiar, almost like a riff on "The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs." The early chapters focus on the protagonist, Allen, navigating his new life and developing his skills. Some found this beginning slow, with one reviewer even suggesting skipping ahead to where the story picks up with more character interactions. I can see why some might feel that way, as the initial world-building felt a little rushed and lacked depth. ### What Works Well Despite some initial reservations, I found myself enjoying the core concept. Allen's dedication to saving the villainess, Anastasia, is endearing. The romance, while perhaps straightforward, is a refreshing change from the harem-esque dynamics of similar stories. I also appreciated that Allen isn't a dense protagonist; he recognizes and acts on his feelings. The later parts of the story, where Allen and Anastasia's relationship develops and they confront the challenges of the game's plot, were definitely a highlight for me. ### Areas of Concern My main concern lies in the pacing and character development outside of Allen and Anastasia. Some found the supporting characters to be one-dimensional and the plot to be forced at times. The use of modern technology by Allen, while initially interesting, felt somewhat out of place and could be jarring for some readers. Additionally, the similarities to "The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs" might be off-putting for those seeking a truly original story. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers expressed strong opinions about certain plot points, particularly regarding the original heroine and a specific event involving the villainess's capture. One reviewer was particularly frustrated by a forced plot development in chapter 68, where Allen's actions lead to Anastasia's emotional torture. I would advise caution if you're sensitive to such themes. ### Final Verdict "Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!" is a mixed bag. While it has its flaws, particularly in its pacing and character development, the core romance and the protagonist's unwavering dedication to the villainess make it an enjoyable read for those seeking a light and straightforward fantasy romance. If you're willing to overlook some of its shortcomings and appreciate a story focused on a devoted couple, it might be worth giving it a try. However, if you're looking for a complex plot with deep world-building and nuanced characters, you might be disappointed. I would give it a tentative recommendation, with the caveat to manage your expectations accordingly.
