Description

At Haru Hinakura’s elementary school, there was a girl with bandages wrapped around her face—Her name was Yuki. No one at their elementary school had ever seen Yuki’s face under the bandages, and finding that sight disgusting, they repeatedly bullied her in insidious ways. Then Haru rescued her, and their relationship began that day. He became Yuki’s first friend, protecting her from the bullies around them, as she relied upon and missed him profoundly. They played together every day, and love gradually sprouted between the two. Unfortunately, the day they had to part ways suddenly came—They found a hospital that could treat Yuki in a distant foreign country. The two vowed to meet again, and even though they had separated, they continued to love each other. Several years later, they finally met again. On the day of the high school entrance ceremony, Yuki appeared in front of Haru once more, this time without bandages. Underneath the gauze, her true face, once wrapped, could be seen for the first time—She was as beautiful as an angel. In the years they’ve been apart, Haru would come to realize just how strong Yuki’s feelings had become. Their following days dripped in sweet honey, as she repays the kindness Haru has always given her.

Underneath The Bandages, You Are Prettier Than Anyone Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Underneath The Bandages, You Are Prettier Than Anyone "Underneath The Bandages, You Are Prettier Than Anyone" promises a fluffy romance with a dash of school life and comedy, and for the most part, it delivers. It's a lighthearted read, perfect for when you want something sweet and easy to consume. ### First Impressions The premise is intriguing, setting the stage for a potentially heartwarming story about overcoming superficial judgments and finding beauty within. From the early chapters, you get a sense of the dynamic between the main characters and a feel for the overall tone of the story. It definitely leans into the wholesome side of the rom-com genre. ### What Works Well The core strength of this novel lies in its dedication to creating a feel-good atmosphere. The relationship between the main characters is undeniably sweet. The female lead has a strong personality and takes the lead in the relationship, which can be refreshing. The male lead, while perhaps a bit beta at times, genuinely tries to step up, making their interactions endearing. The novel doesn't shy away from escalating the romantic tension, which keeps things interesting. ### Areas of Concern While the novel excels in creating a wholesome romance, it does have some shortcomings. The lack of significant conflict or tension can make the story feel somewhat bland. The development is smooth, which may not appeal to readers who prefer more drama and angst in their rom-coms. Additionally, the characterization of characters outside of the main couple may come off as a bit simplistic. ### Final Verdict "Underneath The Bandages, You Are Prettier Than Anyone" is a decent choice if you're in the mood for a light, fluffy, and wholesome romance. It's not groundbreaking, and it has its flaws, but it ultimately delivers on its promise of a feel-good story. If you're looking for something with a lot of depth or complex character development, this might not be for you. However, if you want a sweet and easy read, this novel is worth checking out.
