Description

Born as a child of a serf in a world where magic and monsters exist – Reurus had memories of a previous life lived in modern Japan. However, knowledge of previous lives is almost useless in a world where common sense and environment are different from those in previous life. Poor housing, hard work, unsatisfactory food. Nevertheless, relying on the experience of his previous life to survive, Reurus turned fifteen, came to adulthood, and was sold into s*avery. However, while being transported to the mine as a s*ave, Reurus is attacked by a monster and narrowly manages to escape. He has no family or friends to rely on, no home to live in, no food to eat, and no money. Still, Reurus was able to find freedom and take his first steps in a new world. Reurus arrived at a town run by people in circumstances not much different from his own – Laval Abandoned Town. In the city, which can only seem like a slum to Reurus, who has memories of his previous life, Reurus begins his life as an adventurer. All Reurus wishes is to just live. In order to live out his second life, he began a life in a strange and painful world.

Tough Another World Reincarnation Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Tough Another World Reincarnation Alright, let's dive into "Tough Another World Reincarnation." This one's got some interesting buzz surrounding it, and I'm here to give you my honest take. ### First Impressions Initially, the premise grabbed my attention. The idea of a "struggle to survive" isekai is always appealing. I'm a sucker for a protagonist who has to earn their victories. I went in hoping for something gritty and realistic, a far cry from the usual overpowered hero effortlessly building a new civilization with their modern-day knowledge. ### What Works Well The early chapters definitely set a unique tone. I appreciated the implied commentary on the more ridiculous aspects of typical isekai stories. The author seems to be aware of the common tropes and attempts to subvert them, which is refreshing. The concept of a reincarnation where the protagonist *doesn't* immediately thrive is promising. I like the idea of a character who has to claw their way up from the bottom. ### Areas of Concern However, I also found some elements troubling. The protagonist's initial passivity is a sticking point. While I appreciate the intent to show a character struggling, the degree to which he seemingly accepts his miserable circumstances for so long felt a little implausible, even given his harsh environment. It's one thing to be downtrodden, but the lack of any real initiative for over a decade strained my suspension of disbelief. I can see how some readers might find this frustrating, as it makes it hard to root for the character early on. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning (Minor spoiler ahead regarding early plot points) The circumstances surrounding the protagonist's ostracization also felt somewhat contrived. The vagueness of the reasons behind his parents' treatment, and consequently his own, left me wanting more. It felt like key pieces of information were missing, making it difficult to fully invest in his plight. ### Final Verdict "Tough Another World Reincarnation" has potential, no doubt about it. The premise is intriguing, and the author clearly intends to offer a different take on the isekai genre. However, the execution in the early chapters leaves something to be desired. The protagonist's passivity and the somewhat flimsy world-building held me back from fully embracing the story. I'm curious to see if the author addresses these issues as the story progresses. Whether you'll enjoy this novel depends on your tolerance for a slow burn and a protagonist who starts off incredibly weak. It might be worth checking out if you're looking for something different, but be prepared to exercise some patience.
