Description

At A University’s Dance Department, there is a captivating beauty named Xia Shuyan. With fair skin, stunning looks, a slender waist, and long legs, he is not only attractive to both men and women but also known as the Human Wrench—it is said that there is no straight man that he can’t bend. Pei Mingye, who is hailed as The Sports Department’s Dominator, snorted disdainfully and declared that even if Xia Shuyan could bend all the male students in the school, he would still be the last straight man standing in the Sports Department! It wasn’t until Pei Mingye’s good brother was about to go abroad that he entrusted him with his unrequited love and urged him to make sure to keep Xia Shuyan away from all the wild bees and butterflies surrounding him. Under the bribe of limited edition joint sneakers, Pei Mingye reluctantly agreed. The first time they met was in the dance studio. Xia Shuyan was wearing a loose white shirt and dancing freely to the music. Pei Mingye was stunned, captivated at first sight. *** From that day on, Xia Shuyan began to frequently encounter the sports department student who exuded masculine hormones. When he was having a meal, Pei Mingye would sit across from him. When he was practicing dance, Pei Mingye would be beside him, practicing his punches. When someone confessed to him, Pei Mingye would hide in the bushes, secretly observing. Later, when Xia Shuyan went to a bar, a sports department student suddenly appeared and tightly grabbed his wrist, pulling him outside. Pei Mingye’s face turned red as he panted, “You can’t go out with someone else!” Xia Shuyan raised an eyebrow with affectionate eyes, “Why not?” Pei Mingye stuttered, “Because, because my brother entrusted you to me!” Xia Shuyan: “…” Later on, a good brother from abroad called to inquire about the well-being of his dream lover. Pei Mingye: “I returned the sneakers to you. Xia Shuyan has a boyfriend now, so give up!” Good Brother: “Who?!” Pei Mingye: “Me!!” Good Brother: “Stealing from yourself? You’re quite something!” Slim-waisted, long-legged, beautiful dance major (bottom) × Innocent young man, big dog-like sports major (top) 1. Skin tone and body size difference between top and bottom, if you don’t like it, please don’t enter.2. The bottom is exceptionally beautiful, a bit of a heartthrob, will only shoot love arrows at the top.3. The top is exceptionally handsome, fully automatic self-strategist, capable of bending himself.4. Both experiencing first love, pure and sweet, all settings are for emotional service.

The Straight Guy’s Guide to Rolling Over Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on The Straight Guy’s Guide to Rolling Over This novel certainly had me on a rollercoaster! It’s a fluffy BL story at its heart, but some elements left me feeling conflicted. Overall, it's a light and easy read, but it's not without its flaws. ### First Impressions I was drawn in by the promise of a sweet college romance with an androgynous MC and a seemingly straight, very devoted love interest. The initial chapters delivered on that promise, introducing a beautiful dancer and a flustered, almost puppy-like ML. The premise is fun, and the beginning is genuinely engaging. ### What Works Well The fluff factor is definitely high with this one. Many readers praised the lightheartedness and the sweet dynamic between the main characters. I particularly enjoyed the initial confusion and denial from the ML, who is convinced he's straight despite his obvious infatuation with the MC. The MC's calm and elegant personality also adds a nice contrast to the ML's more boisterous behavior. I found their interactions quite endearing, especially the ML's constant blushing and stuttering. The author does a good job of building the tension and making you root for them to get together. ### Areas of Concern While the fluff is enjoyable, I also noticed some potentially problematic elements. The ML's behavior, described by some as "stalker-ish," raised a few red flags. While some find his jealousy and possessiveness cute, I can see how it could be interpreted as toxic, especially since he seems to follow the MC around. Some of his actions are portrayed as cute, but they are not cute at all. This is scary, because in real life nothing good would await this couple. Gong is obsessed with the hero's appearance, he is jealous of him for every (literally) person he talks to, he constantly stalks him. The ML seems homophobic at first and also in many little instances. I could not see any semblance of real feelings of ML for the MC. All I get from the story is how h**ny he gets by looking every body part of MC. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers mentioned that the ending chapters shifted the tone, with the ML becoming more forceful and demanding, which some found disappointing. This change in character, from a sweet and innocent guy to an obsessive lover, soured the experience for some. ### Final Verdict "The Straight Guy's Guide to Rolling Over" is a mixed bag. If you're looking for a fluffy, lighthearted BL with a devoted ML and are willing to overlook some potentially problematic behavior, you might enjoy it. However, if you're sensitive to possessive tendencies or prefer a more nuanced and less idealized portrayal of relationships, you might want to proceed with caution. Overall, I'd say it's a decent read, but not without its flaws.
