The Queen of the Entertainment Industry is Still Me Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on The Queen of the Entertainment Industry is Still Me "The Queen of the Entertainment Industry is Still Me" promised a juicy rebirth story with a mystery at its heart, and while it had its moments, I walked away feeling a little underwhelmed. It's not a bad read, but it didn't quite hit the high notes I was hoping for. ### First Impressions The premise is undeniably intriguing: a top star, Jin Mi, is murdered and gets a second chance at life in the body of Meng Canran. I was immediately hooked by the idea of her navigating the cutthroat world of showbiz again, this time with a new identity and a burning desire to uncover the truth behind her death. The initial setup, with her rocky marriage to Xie Chi and the low point in Meng Canran's career, definitely had potential. ### What Works Well I appreciated the focus on Jin Mi rebuilding her career and reclaiming her former glory. Seeing her leverage her past experience and talent to rise through the ranks again was satisfying. The romance with Xie Chi, although slow-burn, was also a highlight. I liked how he was one of the few who never gave up on her, even after her death. His unwavering belief and support were definitely swoon-worthy. I also enjoyed the agent's story and how Jin Mi was able to help her. ### Areas of Concern My biggest issue was the murder mystery itself. While it was present throughout the entire novel, the resolution felt a bit rushed and anticlimactic. The motive behind her death seemed weak, and the ultimate reveal didn't have the impact I was expecting. I also found some of the plot devices, like the godson's precognitive abilities, to be unnecessary and a bit jarring. It felt like they were added in without much thought to the overall story. The beginning was also not the best, as the original host was described as a thoughtless idiot. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning The following contains spoilers about the plot and resolution of the story. The reveal that the Wang brothers were behind Jin Mi's murder, while hinted at, felt somewhat underwhelming. The reason for this was that Jin Mi had a voice recorder with her at the dinner with the Wang brothers, but the contents of the recording were never explained. The motive felt too weak, as the Wang family could have simply threatened her instead. ### Final Verdict Overall, "The Queen of the Entertainment Industry is Still Me" is an okay read if you're looking for a light and fluffy entertainment novel with a touch of romance. However, if you're expecting a gripping mystery with a satisfying resolution, you might be disappointed. I'd give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.
