The Imperial Center Museum has a precious collection of a human body that has been frozen for nearly a thousand years. One calm and breezy afternoon, the human’s heart magically revived and opened its eyes during the exhibition.
He Xile knew he was dead, but suddenly regained consciousness. As he opened his eyes, he found himself in a coffin-like glass container, unable to move, surrounded by a variety of strange creatures at a minimum height of two meters.
For that moment, all eyes widened.
He Xile: “Ah—”
Strange creatures: “Ah ah ah —” scattered and fled.jpg
Later.
A new live broadcast room quietly emerged, on the empire’s largest live platform. The last human “seed” on the interstellar was fiddled with the camera cautiously. His hair was soft and fluffy, his glass-like eyes were gentle, his face was delicate and fair, as he pursed his lips a small dimple appeared: “Hello, my name is He Xile.”
The whole interstellar space was boiling:
“He’s so small and cute. Just listening to his voice makes my heart melt! I’m going to purchase him!!!”
“I don’t know if it was my delusion, but after watching his live stream, I feel so full of energy and so much better that I have a reasonable suspicion that he has “healing” powers.”
“Are you an adult yet? Do you have a spouse? I’m an Imperial General, may I?”
His Imperial Majesty: “Sorry, he’s mine.”

## My Thoughts on The Last Human In The Empire
"The Last Human In The Empire" presents an intriguing premise: a lone human in a galaxy populated by non-humans with animal characteristics. The blend of sci-fi, fantasy, and comedy initially drew me in, promising a lighthearted adventure with a unique twist. However, after diving into the story, I found myself with mixed feelings.
### First Impressions
The initial chapters are undoubtedly cute and fluffy. The protagonist, being the last human, is naturally the center of attention. The world-building introduces an interstellar society where animal traits are commonplace, which is a refreshing change. The idea of non-humans reacting to the MC as we might react to an internet-famous pet is quite amusing and adds a layer of humor.
### What Works Well
The initial concept of a human navigating an alien society with animalistic traits is genuinely interesting. I found the unique implementation of this trope, where non-humans view themselves as distinct from humans, to be a clever twist. The potential for plot development and character growth seems promising, especially as the story progresses beyond the initial chapters. The author also introduces the possibility of the MC having high mental power, which could lead to a thrilling subplot involving mecha piloting. I'm intrigued by the ML and his secrets, and I want to learn more about his past too!
### Areas of Concern
However, I did find some aspects of the story troubling. The MC's naivete sometimes veers into spinelessness, and his passivity in the face of cultural differences and personal boundaries raised my eyebrows. The non-humans' tendency to treat the MC like a baby, coupled with his apparent lack of concern, can be frustrating. The non-humans keep babying the MC, the MC doesn't care and enables them, they baby him even more, they have no boundaries towards the MC and he DOES NOT CARE- for some reason... like, it's seriously infuriating.
### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning
The nature of the ML's animal form is also a point of interest. Instead of the typical powerful or mythological creature, the ML is an octopus, a kraken-sized one. The ML's animal traits are treated like everyone else's, often being inconvenient like when his tent**les move around on their own without his input and often against his wishes.
### Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "The Last Human In The Empire" has a certain charm. I'm willing to give it a chance, hoping that the plot will thicken and the characters will develop beyond their initial archetypes. The unique world-building and the potential for intriguing storylines make it worth a read, but be prepared for some frustrating moments along the way.
