## My Thoughts on The General and His “Little Cauliflower”
"The General and His “Little Cauliflower”" promised a fluffy, shounen ai romance, and while it delivered on some of that promise, my reading experience was a mixed bag. This short story zips along at a rapid pace, leaving me wanting more in some areas and scratching my head in others.
### First Impressions
The premise is undeniably cute: a marriage arranged by the Emperor leads to unexpected love between a general and his… well, "little cauliflower." The initial chapters dive right into their married life, which is initially endearing. I was definitely intrigued by the dynamic, and the "doting love interests" tag certainly seemed accurate from the get-go.
### What Works Well
The story's brevity is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it's a quick and easy read, perfect for a lighthearted escape. The cuteness factor is definitely present, and the author does a decent job of establishing the characters' initial relationship. I appreciated the glimpse into their married life, even if it felt a bit rushed. The story does seem to fit the shounen ai category, and it was nice to see the protagonist get his dream come true.
### Areas of Concern
While the story is fluffy, the plot progression felt disjointed. Events seem to happen without clear cause and effect, making the narrative feel somewhat random. The last chapter especially felt a bit out of place. I also felt that the short length of the story prevented the author from exploring the characters and their relationship in more depth. More development and world-building would have made this a far more satisfying read.
### Final Verdict
"The General and His “Little Cauliflower”" is a sweet, albeit fleeting, romance. If you're looking for a quick dose of fluff and don't mind a somewhat disjointed narrative, you might enjoy it. However, if you prefer stories with more depth and a stronger plot, you might be left wanting more. Overall, it's a cute little story that could have been so much better with a bit more development. I'd recommend it with reservations.
