Description

In her previous life, Zhang Yansheng wasted her life because of her s*umbag father and stepmother—smoking, drinking, getting tattoos, and drag racing. Reborn back to high school, Yansheng, a rebellious girl, looks at the luxurious mansion and million-dollar cars at home… What’s with being rebellious? Isn’t it better to inherit the family business instead? Yansheng is now determined to study hard and be a qualified heir of the family. What about the stepmother and half-brother who are actually devils? What she wasn’t able to do in her previous life was to win the fight. So, Yansheng puts an end to her bad demeanor and follows the right path this time. s*umbag Father: I will listen to Yanyan! Half-brother: Sister, I won’t dare! Half-sister: My sister is the prettiest in the entire universe! Grandmother: Yanyan is the heir of the family! The stepmother, with her precious son, cries bitterly, “The eldest child is obviously a daughter, so why will she inherit the family’s property? I gave birth to a son!” Everyone says that the prince of the Yue family, Yue Song, is a cold-hearted person, cold as winter. Until that day, someone has seen his gentleness to Yansheng, gentle as water. “I want to talk to you about marriage between heirs of powerful families.”

The Eldest Daughter was Reborn Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on The Eldest Daughter was Reborn "The Eldest Daughter was Reborn" promised a mature take on the rebirth genre, and for the most part, it delivered. While it wasn’t without its flaws, the story offered a compelling exploration of family dynamics, personal growth, and second chances that kept me engaged. ### First Impressions I went in expecting a typical revenge plot, but I was pleasantly surprised. Zhang Yansheng, our MC, isn't just out for blood. She's introspective, recognizing her own past mistakes and striving for genuine self-improvement. This maturity made her journey all the more compelling. ### What Works Well The heart of this novel lies in its character development. Yansheng's relationships with her half-siblings and even her "bad boy" ex-best friend are nuanced and realistically portrayed. I particularly enjoyed watching her rebuild connections and navigate complex family dynamics. The slow-burn romance with Yue Song, the ML, was also a plus. Their relationship felt mature and respectful, especially given Yansheng's aversion to marriage stemming from her family trauma. The author does a great job of fleshing out the father character. I appreciate that he's not necessarily the stereotypical s*um father who is only abusive/neglectful towards his children. Rather, he holds a lot of different faces & (odd) rationales to his behavior. ### Areas of Concern I did find some aspects less satisfying. I agree that the college arc felt rushed and less engaging than the earlier parts of the story. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers might find the age gap between the MC and ML problematic, especially since they meet when she is a teenager. While their relationship doesn't become romantic until she's older, it's something to be aware of. ### Final Verdict Overall, I found "The Eldest Daughter was Reborn" to be a worthwhile read. Its strengths lie in its character development, exploration of family relationships, and mature approach to the rebirth trope. While it has some flaws, the compelling narrative and relatable characters make it a standout in the genre.
