The "gentle seme x stubborn uke" dynamic is a classic for a reason, and the author executes it reasonably well here. Li Jia Die's patience and persistence in wooing the somewhat oblivious Wei Cai were endearing. The novel also touches upon some interesting themes, such as societal expectations, career versus love, and the internal conflict Wei Cai experiences as he grapples with his feelings. The fact that it has a HE ending is also reassuring for readers invested in the characters. ### Areas of Concern While the story is generally enjoyable, it does have its shortcomings.
