Description

“I have a home to go back to.” Mori Tenko is the self-proclaimed ace of the going-home club. He tries to set a new record on his usual route home from school, but gets hit by a truck when he tries to save a strange puppy. Then he’s picked up by a fat old man who calls himself a god, and is sent to a different world called Veriathes, where swords, magic, and skills rule the world, and where he is told to live out his life cheerfully and happily. As soon as he arrives there, Norimi is subjected to a harsh baptism. Realizing that the world is not easy, he throws himself into battle, training himself to survive and protect his place in the world. This is the story of a young man who later became known as the Lord of the Deep Temple and shook the world.

Tenkomori: The Homecoming Club Conquers Another World Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on *Tenkomori: The Homecoming Club Conquers Another World* *Tenkomori* is a web novel that certainly took me on a ride. With its blend of school life, fantasy, and even a touch of tragedy, it's a story that attempts to juggle quite a bit. My experience, much like others, was a bit of a rollercoaster. ### First Impressions I'll be honest, the beginning was a bit of a slog. I found myself struggling to get through the initial chapters. It felt slow, and I wasn't immediately gripped by the story. This seems to be a common sentiment, as some readers have pointed out that the first 50 chapters can be a bit of a hurdle. ### What Works Well Once the story picks up, around chapter 50, the character development really shines. The author does a commendable job of making the characters feel deep and complex. The MC, in particular, is an interesting case. He starts as a fairly typical modern Japanese person reincarnated into a noble family. However, his growth as both a person and a noble is genuinely captivating. The world-building is also quite impressive, creating a rich and detailed setting. I appreciated how the author crafted the world. ### Areas of Concern My biggest issue, and it's a significant one, is the translation quality. It appears there's a shift from human translation to machine translation somewhere around chapter 50, and the drop in quality is noticeable. Inconsistent names, gender errors, and general awkwardness in the prose made it difficult to follow the story at times. This is a real shame because it detracts from the otherwise compelling narrative. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning I'll tread carefully here, but one particular plot point raised some concerns for me. The incident involving the count's daughter and the MC's subsequent reaction felt a bit jarring. His decision not to report her actions seemed out of character and difficult to understand, at least from my perspective. ### Final Verdict *Tenkomori: The Homecoming Club Conquers Another World* has the potential to be a truly great web novel. The world-building, character development, and overall story are compelling. However, the poor translation quality is a significant obstacle. If you're willing to overlook the translation issues or perhaps read the raw version, there's a lot to enjoy here. But be prepared for a slow start and some potentially frustrating moments along the way.
