Safe Journey Under the Moon Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Safe Journey Under the Moon "Safe Journey Under the Moon" hooked me with its intriguing premise of enemies turned lovers, amnesia, and hidden desires. It's a story that explores the complexities of love, trust, and vulnerability, all wrapped up in a world of business rivalries and personal trauma. I found myself invested in the characters, despite a few pacing issues that kept it from being a perfect read. ### First Impressions Initially, the setup felt a bit tropey: a cold CEO male lead (Xie Duo) and a cunning, almost bratty, main character (Shen Antu/Shen Lin) who loses his memory. But as I delved deeper, I appreciated the layers to both characters. The amnesia plot, while a common device, was cleverly used to explore their hidden feelings and create a unique dynamic. ### What Works Well Shen Antu is undoubtedly the star of the show. His character is complex and raw, shaped by a difficult past. I loved his flirtatious nature and the contrast between his public persona and the vulnerable man he is deep down. The author does a great job of portraying his internal struggles and his yearning for Xie Duo, making him incredibly relatable. Xie Duo, while initially seeming like a typical cold CEO, reveals a deep, almost obsessive, love for Shen Antu. While his constant surveillance could border on creepy, it's clear his actions stem from a place of deep insecurity and fear of losing Antu. I found the yearning between them palpable, creating a sense of emotional tension that kept me engaged. The story also has some very engaging parts, like when Shen Antu regains his memories but plays along with the sweet boyfriend role. The extras, particularly those set in their high school days, were a delightful addition. They provided a "what if" scenario and a chance to see their relationship blossom without the weight of their adult lives. ### Areas of Concern The pacing occasionally felt uneven, with some parts dragging on longer than necessary. I also felt that some of the backstory could have been fleshed out more, allowing me to connect more deeply with the characters' emotions. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers might find Xie Duo's actions, such as bugging Shen Antu's phone and monitoring his every move, to be overly obsessive. Additionally, the reveal of Shen Antu regaining his memories happens earlier than expected, which may disrupt the pacing for some readers. ### Final Verdict Despite some minor flaws, "Safe Journey Under the Moon" is a compelling read that explores the complexities of love, trust, and vulnerability. The characters are well-developed, the plot is engaging, and the smut is, shall we say, strategically placed. If you're a fan of yaoi with a bit of drama and a healthy dose of yearning, I recommend giving this novel a try.
