Rebirth to the Sixties With Space Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Rebirth to the Sixties With Space "Rebirth to the Sixties With Space" promises a cozy blend of historical slice-of-life with a touch of magical realism. As I delved into the world of Su Ruan Ruan, I found myself both charmed and frustrated by this completed novel. While there are aspects I enjoyed, some significant issues held it back from being a truly great read. ### First Impressions The initial premise is undeniably appealing: a second chance at life in the 1960s, armed with a magical space filled with modern conveniences. The potential for character growth, heartwarming family moments, and navigating the challenges of the era seemed immense. I was eager to see how the protagonist would use her advantage to improve her life and the lives of those around her. ### What Works Well I appreciated the focus on family and community. Su Ruan Ruan's filial piety and her desire to help her village were genuinely heartwarming. The supermarket space cheat was also interesting. I liked how she uses her supermarket space to improve her and het grandmother's life, on how she uses it to sell in the black market so she could have money and tickets. The interactions between the female lead and male lead can be funny and romantic. The male lead didn't have some peach blossoms. ### Areas of Concern However, the novel stumbles in its execution. The pacing felt inconsistent, with some sections dragging on unnecessarily. The plot can be too slow-moving. I also found the romance to be somewhat lacking. The male lead's behavior sometimes veered into obsessive territory, and the female lead's acceptance of his advances felt a bit forced. The romance doesn't seem like a build of romance just the one-sided obsessiveness and then they propose marriage to each other when it doesn't feel like it's two sided romance but one sided. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers might be put off by the handling of the female lead's birth family. While it's understandable that she would want to distance herself from those who wronged her in her past life, her lack of proactive revenge felt like a missed opportunity. It's also a bit strange how she didn't think about getting revenge for being used by her biological family. You know her adopted grandmother died because of her biological sister and she also died because of her biological mother but after rebirth she didn't even calculate them to have misfortune. There's also a strange side plot where they both travel to the ancient place, they became a 5 or 6 years old child. ### Final Verdict "Rebirth to the Sixties With Space" is a mixed bag. While it offers a pleasant escape into a simpler time with a touch of fantasy, its flaws in pacing, character development, and romance prevent it from reaching its full potential. If you're looking for a lighthearted, slow-paced read with a focus on family and community, this might be worth checking out. However, be prepared for some inconsistencies and a potentially frustrating lack of depth. Ultimately, I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
