Description

By some unsavory stroke of luck, Yuuki Narito found himself sitting next to none other than the mischievous Yui Takatsuki. This girl had built herself a reputation of stringing guys along only to reject them when they finally dared to confess their feelings for her. This, in turn, earned her a certain nickname: “The Seatmate Killer.” It was only a matter of time before Yuuki fell victim to the overly friendly Yui, but little did she know that he was as clueless as they come! The tables have suddenly been turned, and the hunter will soon become the prey. “Damn it! You think that poker face of yours is gonna get to me?! I’ll make you regret this, you’ll see!” This rom-com is off to a bumpy start as a now-determined Yui takes it upon herself to get her revenge!

My Seatmate Tries to Make Me Fall in Love with Her by Teasing Me Repeatedly, but Somehow She Was the One Who Fell Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on *My Seatmate Tries to Make Me Fall in Love with Her by Teasing Me Repeatedly, but Somehow She Was the One Who Fell* ### First Impressions Okay, so the title is a mouthful, right? But it definitely grabbed my attention. The premise of a girl trying to tease a guy into falling for her, only to fall herself, is a classic rom-com setup, and I was curious to see how this novel would execute it. Going in, I was hoping for some genuinely funny moments and a heartwarming romance. ### What Works Well There's a lot to enjoy here, especially if you're a fan of the genre. The dynamic between the male lead (ML) and female lead (FL) is a definite highlight. I really appreciate how the ML isn't your typical, easily flustered protagonist. His calm, almost nonchalant attitude towards the FL's teasing creates some genuinely funny interactions. The humor, when it lands, is pretty great, and the characters have a good dynamic. I also like that the characters feel realistic, with age-appropriate moments of immaturity and inexperience. ### Areas of Concern While I enjoyed aspects of the story, I also had some reservations. The ML's constant misunderstandings of the FL's intentions can get frustrating. I'm not usually a fan of plots heavily reliant on misunderstandings, and this novel leans into that trope pretty hard. It feels like his perception of her is based more on what his friend says rather than his own observations, which can be a bit annoying. I also felt like there were some translation issues that diminished the impact of comedic back-and-forths. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Okay, so some readers have expressed disappointment with the direction the story takes. Apparently, the whole "Seatmate Killer" thing is revealed to be a misunderstanding, which some found disappointing. Also, a new female character is introduced in the second volume, and some readers find her more appealing than the original FL, which definitely throws a wrench into the established romance. ### Final Verdict Overall, *My Seatmate Tries to Make Me Fall in Love with Her by Teasing Me Repeatedly, but Somehow She Was the One Who Fell* is a decent rom-com that offers some fun moments and an interesting dynamic between the leads. However, the reliance on misunderstandings and some potential translation issues hold it back from being truly great. If you're a die-hard fan of the genre and don't mind those flaws, it's worth a read. But if you're looking for something groundbreaking, this might not be it. I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
