The story avoids excessive angst, and instead emphasizes the gradual development of their relationship. Lu Qiu is a likable protagonist—calm, rational, and quick-witted as she adapts to her new life. Wells, despite being a powerful and imposing figure, is also incredibly endearing, with a touch of clumsiness when it comes to expressing his feelings. The humor is well-placed, and I often found myself smiling at their antics. The world-building, while not the primary focus, is well-integrated, revealing interesting details about the animal-dominated society and its technological advancements. The author’s care for detail, especially in how she describes the emotions of the FL, fear, confusion, surprise or pain, is definitely worth reading. ### Areas of Concern While I mostly enjoyed the story, there were a couple of things that gave me pause. I can see how some might find the world a bit confusing, as it blends elements of sci-fi (robots, broadcasting systems) with fantasy and animal characteristics. Also, the FL's personality is rather average. She didn't have any big flaws, her strength and golden finger was the male lead himself. It gives the vibe of slice of life. It is basically the daily life and little adventures of the two main character except the kidnapping arc (I could only say, Lu Qiu had terrible luck). ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some of you may want to skip this section if you're sensitive to spoilers! I read that Wells eventually gains the ability to transform into a human, which allows for a more conventional romantic relationship with Lu Qiu. ### Final Verdict Overall, "Master Meow" is a delightful and heartwarming read that I would recommend, especially if you're a fan of cute stories with a touch of the unusual. If you're looking for a story with heavy plot or deep character development, this might not be for you. But if you're in the mood for some fluffy, feel-good entertainment, "Master Meow" is definitely worth checking out.
