Description

“I’ve found someone I like.” In his second year of high school, the main character, Ryunosuke, was asked for advice by his childhood friend, Hinagata Shiori, who sat next to him in class. Why does Takamine’s beautiful childhood friend look down on herself? Despite his doubts, the protagonist, who has never been in love before, tries to answer his childhood friend’s earnest question. Wouldn’t she prefer asking someone more dependable? But his childhood friend shakes her head, saying that she prefers Ryunosuke. When he asked her about it, she said that the person she likes has similar characteristics to him. (Isn’t that me?). But he was too embarrassed to ask her, fearing that he might be wrong. “He’s good-looking, from my point of view.” (Oh, no.) “He doesn’t have many friends. He’s also a bit of a nerd.” (You mean me?) “But he’s refreshing.” (That’s not me.) “He’s a guy I’ve known for a long time who lives in my neighborhood.” (That’s me, right?) Without knowing for sure, Ryunosuke gives Shiori some advice even though he doesn’t know what to do with her. But what he doesn’t realize is that his advice is being put into practice. As he counsels her, he becomes aware of her as a girl, and before he knows it, he begins to like her without even realizing it.

Love Advice From A Childhood Friend Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Love Advice From A Childhood Friend ### First Impressions Alright, so I jumped into "Love Advice From A Childhood Friend" expecting a fluffy, feel-good romance, and for the most part, that's exactly what I got. The premise is simple: childhood friends navigating the tricky waters of love, with one of them dishing out advice while secretly harboring feelings. It’s a classic setup, and I was curious to see how the author would put a fresh spin on it. ### What Works Well The strongest aspect for me was the comfortable and heartwarming vibe. It's the kind of story that makes you smile, especially during those significant moments between the leads. The dynamic between the childhood friends feels genuine, and I found myself rooting for them to figure things out. I appreciated that the male lead, while a bit dense (as advertised!), wasn't completely clueless. There's a hint of awareness that keeps you from wanting to shake him too hard. The female lead is also great. The author did a great job making her likeable and relatable, and I enjoyed seeing her navigate her feelings. ### Areas of Concern While I enjoyed the overall experience, I can see how some readers might find the "dense protagonist" trope a bit overused. There were moments when I wished he would just *get* it already, but I suppose that's part of the charm (and the source of much of the comedic tension). The pacing, at times, felt a little slow, especially in the earlier chapters. I think the story could have benefited from a bit more conflict or external plot elements to keep things moving. ### Final Verdict Overall, "Love Advice From A Childhood Friend" is a delightful and easy read. If you're in the mood for a sweet, low-stakes romance with a touch of humor, this one is definitely worth checking out. It might not break any new ground, but it executes the familiar tropes well and leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
