Description

Brett, a teacher at the Hero’s Academy, was once known as a brilliant and brave man in the past. One day, he is abruptly framed as an abusive teacher by Cyrus, an important figure in heroic society, and is exiled from the capital. When he arrives in a remote village by carriage, he finds a small, run down, nameless hut. Brett would soon come to learn that this unassuming hut is the Hero’s Academy for the village. At this academy, Brett encounters three girls, who were dressed in rags and looked like abandoned cats, having experienced a series of misfortunes. He feeds them out of pity, saying he can’t leave such unfortunate children alone. When he feeds them, the three girls, who had been wary of him at first, start to take a liking to him. These girls are the heroes that Brett needs to raise, and they are all S-ranked children. Brett, now a teacher at this remote heroic academy, teaches his students skills and magic, whilst going on adventures with them to exterminate demon kings.

Let’s Raise the Abandoned Cat Heroes – an Awesome Demon Hunter Who Switched to Being a Teacher, and Is Very Much Missed by His S-Ranked Pupils Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Let’s Raise the Abandoned Cat Heroes – an Awesome Demon Hunter Who Switched to Being a Teacher, and Is Very Much Missed by His S-Ranked Pupils This title is quite a mouthful, isn't it? "Let’s Raise the Abandoned Cat Heroes…" certainly piqued my interest with its blend of action, school life, and a hint of the fantastical. After delving into what others are saying, I have some thoughts. ### First Impressions The premise is undeniably intriguing: a demon hunter turned teacher nurturing abandoned children with heroic potential. It promises a blend of heartwarming childcare and exciting battles, set against a backdrop of academy life. The "missed by his S-Ranked pupils" part adds a layer of mystery and intrigue, suggesting a past full of adventure. ### What Works Well Many readers seem to enjoy the lighthearted and cute nature of the story. It's described as a "warm" and "silly" slice-of-life, with battles taking a backseat to the character interactions. For those seeking a relaxing read without heavy plots or intense drama, this novel appears to fit the bill. The concept of overpowered "loli" characters trained by the MC also seems to appeal to some, though this is definitely a point of contention I'll address later. Some readers find the MC's denseness amusing, adding to the comedic effect. ### Areas of Concern Now, let's talk about some potential pitfalls. Several readers have pointed out issues with the translation, citing inconsistencies in pronouns and general proofreading errors. This can definitely detract from the reading experience. More critically, the overused jokes and perceived lack of originality are raised. If the humor feels stale or repetitive, it can become grating rather quickly. The characterization, particularly of the female characters, is also a point of contention, with some feeling that their personalities are forced. The story seems to heavily focus on the harem aspect and the MC's denseness, which can become tiresome if not handled well. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers mention the ages and appearances of the female characters. It's crucial to note that while some defend the characters' ages and development within the story, others may find the dynamic uncomfortable. Reader discretion is advised. ### Final Verdict "Let’s Raise the Abandoned Cat Heroes" seems like a novel with a lot of potential that hasn't been fully realized. If you're looking for a lighthearted, low-stakes read with cute characters and don't mind some translation quirks and potentially overused tropes, it might be worth a try. However, be aware of the potential issues with characterization, humor, and the sensitive subject matter regarding the characters' ages. Proceed with caution and manage your expectations accordingly.
