Description

When a beautiful Omega travels through time and space and into a normal society… Shen Tingwei, an Omega who doesn’t know how to drink, emanates the fragrance of cranberry wine from his scent glands. This time, however, the scent of wine is stronger than usual. And so, he became intoxicated. Upon waking, everything seemed unfamiliar and a bit out of sorts. Enduring the unique circumstances of his Omega state, he walked into a pharmacy with great difficulty. “Pardon me, but I would like one Omega heat suppressor spray.” The pharmacist was stunned. “What?” Unable to get heat suppressors, he felt helpless and resorted to looking for a place to stay. “Hello, can I book a room?” Shen Tingwei asked. “Please show me your ID,” the front desk clerk replied. Shen Tingwei handed over his ID, only to see a complicated expression appear on the clerk’s face. The clerk quickly shoved the ID back into his hand. “Regulations have been strict lately. You cannot book a room without a proper ID. Maybe you should go somewhere else instead,” the clerk said in an unkind tone. As Shen Tingwei turned around, he heard the person mutter to themselves. “Your gender is ‘Omega’? Then mine must be ‘Casio’! Seriously, fake IDs are so blatantly obvious these days…”

Intoxicated Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Intoxicated "Intoxicated" is a wild ride of a story that threw me for a loop. It’s definitely not your typical, fluffy romance, and it explores some darker themes alongside heartwarming moments. I went into it expecting one thing and came out with something entirely different, but ultimately, I found it a compelling and enjoyable read. ### First Impressions Initially, I was drawn in by the premise: an omega from an ABO world suddenly finds himself in a world without such concepts, pregnant, and with no resources. It's a recipe for drama, and "Intoxicated" delivers. My first impression of the male lead, Lian Jue, was… complicated. He's cold, distrustful, and definitely has his issues, but as the story progresses, I started to understand the reasons behind his behavior. ### What Works Well The character development is a real strength. Shen Tingwei, the MC, starts out as quite gentle and seemingly weak, but he demonstrates a surprising amount of resilience as he navigates this unfamiliar world. I appreciated how he learns to stand up for himself and communicate his needs, especially given his initial circumstances. Lian Jue's growth is equally compelling. Watching him slowly open up and learn to express his emotions, despite his past trauma, was genuinely touching. The relationship between them felt earned, even with its rocky start. I also found the family dynamics to be incredibly heartwarming. The adopted child, Tongtong, is an absolute delight, and the way the three of them slowly formed a family was one of my favorite aspects of the story. The smut was also surprisingly well-done, adding another layer of intimacy to their relationship. ### Areas of Concern I do have a few minor gripes. The ending felt a bit rushed, and I would have loved to see more development of the side characters. Some plot points, particularly surrounding the MC's mpreg situation, felt a little underdeveloped. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Several reviewers mentioned that the male lead's behavior in the beginning can be quite problematic, bordering on non-consensual. While I agree that his actions are questionable, it's important to remember that he lacks understanding of the omegaverse and has his own emotional baggage to deal with. It doesn't excuse his behavior, but it does provide context. Also, some felt the ML never truly apologizes for his past actions and the circumstances surrounding the MC's pregnancy are never fully explained. ### Final Verdict Despite its flaws, I'd recommend "Intoxicated" to readers who enjoy character-driven stories with a healthy dose of drama, romance, and smut. It's not always an easy read, but the journey of self-discovery and the heartwarming family dynamics make it a worthwhile experience. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
