Original Japanese Title
Also known as: My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me! (LN), Sokushi Cheat ga Saikyou Sugite, Isekai no Yatsura ga Marude Aite ni Naranai n Desu ga, The Other World Doesn't Stand a Chance Against The Power of Instant Death, 即死チートが最強すぎて、異世界のやつらがまるで相手にならないんですが。
Growth cheats? Infinite magic power? The ability to utilize all archetypes? What’s the point if instant death ends everything with a single attack?
High school senior Yogiri Takatou was on a school field trip when he woke up to a dragon assaulting his sightseeing bus, with the only ones still on the bus being him and his female classmate, the panicking Tomochika Dannoura. Apparently the rest of his classmates had been given special powers by Sion, a woman who introduced herself as Sage, and escaped from the dragon, leaving those that hadn’t received any special powers behind as dragon bait.
And so Yogiri was thrown into a parallel universe full of danger, with no idea of what just happened. Likewise, Sion had no way of knowing just what kind of being she had summoned to her world.

Instant Death Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator
## My Thoughts on Instant Death
"Instant Death" is a web novel that certainly lives up to its name, and I found myself both intrigued and slightly bewildered by the experience. It's a wild ride through an isekai world, and while it's not without its flaws, it offers a unique take on the genre that kept me somewhat engaged.
### First Impressions
The initial premise is undeniably attention-grabbing: an overpowered MC who can instantly kill anything with a mere thought. It's a concept that screams wish fulfillment, and in some ways, it delivers on that front. However, it's also clear that the author isn't taking things too seriously. There's a strong undercurrent of parody running through the story, poking fun at common isekai tropes and the characters who embody them.
### What Works Well
The humor is a major draw. The interactions between the MC, Yogiri, and his companions, particularly Tomochika, are often hilarious. Their dynamic, reminiscent of a Manzai comedy duo, provides a welcome contrast to the often-grim situations they find themselves in. I also appreciate that the story doesn't rely on a traditional harem setup. The romance is slow-burn and not the main focus, which is refreshing.
Furthermore, the world itself, while chaotic and often nonsensical, is strangely compelling. The sheer variety of elements thrown into the mix – magic, steampunk, beastkin, angels, and more – creates a bizarre but fascinating landscape. The subversion of typical power systems is also a plus, as Yogiri's ability throws the established order into disarray.
### Areas of Concern
One of the biggest issues I encountered was the translation quality, with a noticeable dip in quality after a certain point. This made it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story and understand the nuances of the dialogue. Additionally, I felt like the constant focus on side characters who are destined to die became tiresome after a while. It detracted from the main plot and made it hard to invest in anyone beyond the core group.
### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some reviewers have pointed out that the constant deaths can diminish the impact of character deaths. The MC's power is so absolute that antagonists often don't even have a chance to react, which can feel anticlimactic.
### Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "Instant Death" offers a unique and often hilarious twist on the isekai genre. If you're looking for a serious, plot-driven fantasy, this isn't it. But if you're in the mood for a lighthearted, over-the-top parody with an overpowered MC, then it might be worth checking out, just be prepared for some translation issues and a healthy dose of absurdity. I give it a tentative 3.5 out of 5 stars, with the potential to be higher if the translation improves.
