Description

The protagonist, Act, has a talent for detecting and nurturing the hidden talents of others. However, he is banished by an ignorant guild master who does not realize this. A few years later, Act created his own guild, “The Gem of Heavenly Gift,” and became the guild master. He banishes the members of the guild one after the other. He expelled one guild member after another, saying, “Blacksmithing skills are unnecessary in the Adventurer’s Guild. Get out. I’ve prepared a post for you as the deputy head of the Blacksmith’s Guild, so you can do your best there.” “Thank you very much! I’ll never forget this favor!” (I’ll never forget this favor?) (Why is he thanking me?) [The Gem of Heavenly Gift] was a guild that gathered weak people who had been unreasonably banished without realizing their hidden talents. Act had nurtured them and prepared suitable workplaces for them once they were no longer weak, and then banished them. However, those who had left were still trying to come back, saying that Act’s guild was better than their new jobs. “You want to come back now? It’s too early to tell. You can still make it there.” Sometimes Act encourages former guild members, and sometimes he punishes the as*hole bosses who interfere with their new lives. Act’s guild, which helps the weak and provides excellent aftercare, grows even larger.

I’m the Villainous Guildmaster of an Adventurer’s Guild – I Just Banish Useless People to the Right Places, but for Some Reason They’re Really Grateful to Me. “What? You Want To Come Back to the Guild Now? You’re Not Ready Yet, You Can Do Your Best There.” Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on I’m the Villainous Guildmaster of an Adventurer’s Guild – I Just Banish Useless People to the Right Places, but for Some Reason They’re Really Grateful to Me. “What? You Want To Come Back to the Guild Now? You’re Not Ready Yet, You Can Do Your Best There.” This title is a mouthful, isn't it? And honestly, the novel itself is a bit of a mixed bag. It's one of those stories I went into with low expectations, and it mostly met them, but there were still some aspects I found enjoyable. ### First Impressions The premise is certainly unique. Our protagonist is a guildmaster who seemingly "banishes" members, only to strategically place them in roles where they can truly thrive. It's a fun twist on the classic adventurer's guild setup, and the initial chapters were enough to pique my interest. The "misunderstanding" tag is definitely accurate; the humor derives heavily from the contrast between the MC's pragmatic intentions and everyone else's perception of him as a benevolent leader. ### What Works Well The core loop of the story – character gets kicked out, finds success, former detractors regret their actions – is undeniably formulaic, but it can be satisfying, especially when the "banished" character ends up in a much better position. The female characters, who are often the focus of these arcs, are generally well-developed and their growth is a definite highlight. Also, the whole "strong from the start" thing is nice, as it means the MC is already competent and we can dive right into the guild management aspect. ### Areas of Concern The biggest issue I encountered was the repetitive nature of the plot. Each arc follows essentially the same pattern, and it starts to feel predictable after a while. The antagonists are often simplistic and serve little purpose beyond driving the plot forward. Their inability to recognize the MC's influence or their own shortcomings can be frustrating. And I really do have to mention the translation... it could definitely use some work. ### Final Verdict "I’m the Villainous Guildmaster…" is a novel with a quirky premise and some enjoyable moments, particularly in the development of its female characters. However, its repetitive structure, simplistic antagonists, and translation quality hold it back from being truly great. If you're looking for a lighthearted read with a unique twist and don't mind some predictable plotlines, this might be worth checking out. Just go in with measured expectations.
