Description

Todo Arata, a corporate drone salaryman, died due to a mistake from god.He was reincarnated in another world as an apology, and received the special perks ‘a strong body that won’t get sick or hurt’, and ‘the ability to copy skills and magic just by seeing them’. And so, the place where Arata was reincarnated turned out to be a place where races known as the strongest, that appeared in legends and myths, lived. Races like divine beasts, high elves, demon gods, ancient dragons, true ancestral vampires, and more. This would normally be a dangerous place, but the body given to Arata by god was stronger than even the strongest races, meaning this danger was of no concern to him. A giant boar was downed in one punch, and turned into a tasty prey, and an ancient dragon’s breath felt pleasant. There was nothing that could hurt that invincible body. And so, Arata, along with the girl and the so-called strongest species he met on the island, eats tasty food, makes a lot of ruckus, and relaxes while enjoying this second chance at life given to him by god.

I Was Reincarnated on an Island Where the Strongest Species Live So I Will Enjoy a Slow Life on This Island Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on I Was Reincarnated on an Island Where the Strongest Species Live So I Will Enjoy a Slow Life on This Island This title is quite a mouthful, but the premise of "I Was Reincarnated on an Island Where the Strongest Species Live So I Will Enjoy a Slow Life on This Island" definitely grabbed my attention. The combination of action, adventure, slice of life, and even a touch of ecchi had me curious to see if it could deliver a fun and engaging read. After diving in, I can see why it has both its fans and its detractors. ### First Impressions Initially, the story is quite charming. The idea of a protagonist reincarnated into a world of powerful beings, yet striving for a peaceful existence, is appealing. There's a sense of lightheartedness that draws you in, and the world-building, at first glance, seems promising. ### What Works Well The slow-life aspect is executed reasonably well. The story focuses on the protagonist's daily life, his interactions with the island's inhabitants, and his culinary endeavors. I found myself enjoying the descriptions of the food and the heartwarming moments between the characters. The blend of fantasy elements, like dragons and unique species, adds a layer of intrigue that keeps you invested in the world. ### Areas of Concern However, there are some significant issues that hold this novel back. The most prominent one is the protagonist himself. While the "dense protagonist" trope can be amusing, it's taken to an extreme here. For a character who is supposedly a 30-year-old in a younger body, his naivety and obliviousness in romantic situations are frustrating. It creates a disconnect and makes it difficult to fully invest in his relationships. It feels forced and unnatural, hindering the development of meaningful connections with the female leads. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers might find the initial setup to be a bit contrived. The fact that the first person the protagonist meets on an island supposedly devoid of humans is, in fact, a human, feels like a convenient plot device. The protagonist's reluctance to acknowledge his unique abilities and his reactions to the attention from the female characters can also be grating. ### Final Verdict Overall, "I Was Reincarnated on an Island Where the Strongest Species Live So I Will Enjoy a Slow Life on This Island" is a mixed bag. It has its moments of charm and entertainment, particularly in its slow-life elements and world-building. However, the frustrating protagonist and the somewhat forced romantic dynamics prevent it from reaching its full potential. If you can overlook these flaws and enjoy a lighthearted, albeit somewhat dense, story, you might find something to enjoy here. Otherwise, approach with caution.
