Hi, I’m the Hero’s Father ~I’m Sorry For All The Trouble My Foolish Son Has Caused You~ Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Hi, I’m the Hero’s Father ~I’m Sorry For All The Trouble My Foolish Son Has Caused You~ This title certainly grabbed my attention! "Hi, I’m the Hero’s Father ~I’m Sorry For All The Trouble My Foolish Son Has Caused You~" promises a unique spin on the chosen one trope, and I dove in with a healthy dose of curiosity. The premise is simple: What happens when the hero goes off the rails, and his parents have to clean up the mess? It’s a scenario ripe for both comedic and dramatic potential, and the early chapters definitely hint at both. ### First Impressions Initially, I was intrigued by the world and the setup. The idea of a father stepping up to take responsibility for his son's actions, especially when that son is a powerful hero, is a fresh take. The world feels like a fairly standard fantasy setting, but the focus on family dynamics offers a different lens through which to view it. ### What Works Well I appreciate the concept of parents actively trying to correct their child's mistakes, especially when that child wields significant power. It's a refreshing change from the typical deadbeat or absent parent trope often found in fantasy stories. The exploration of how a hero's power can corrupt them, and the consequences of that corruption, is also compelling. I found the story interesting enough to keep me reading, though I can see why some might find the pacing a bit slow. ### Areas of Concern The portrayal of the father-son relationship is a bit of a sticking point for me. While the story attempts to justify the father's actions as a form of "re-education," I found myself uncomfortable with the implications of domestic violence. It's a delicate subject, and the story doesn't always handle it with the nuance it requires. This aspect could definitely be a turn-off for some readers. I also felt that the initial abandonment of the son, even with the explanation of societal norms, was difficult to fully reconcile with the father's later attempts at redemption. ### Final Verdict "Hi, I’m the Hero’s Father" has a compelling premise and some genuinely interesting ideas. The focus on family responsibility in a fantasy setting is a welcome change. However, the questionable portrayal of the father-son relationship and the use of violence as a corrective measure are significant drawbacks. If you can look past these issues, you might find something to enjoy, but proceed with caution. Overall, I'd say it's a mixed bag with potential, but definitely not for everyone.
