Fire Dragon Song Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Fire Dragon Song "Fire Dragon Song" is quite the sprawling tale, and after diving in, I can see why it elicits such strong reactions. It's a story of a modern-day individual thrust into a primitive world, complete with beastmen, tribe building, and a whole lot of babies. It's definitely a unique ride. ### First Impressions Initially, I was intrigued by the premise. A "neutral" gender MC, betrayed in his past life and reborn into a world ripe for development? I was ready for some serious world-building and character growth. The early chapters, focusing on the relationship between the MC and the beastman ML, were enjoyable. ### What Works Well The core of the story – the bond between the MC and ML – is genuinely heartwarming. They both find solace and acceptance in each other, and their devotion is a strong anchor throughout the narrative. I also appreciate the author's dedication to world-building. The progression from a small tribe to a kingdom feels organic, and the incorporation of the MC's modern knowledge into the primitive setting is well-executed. The plot doesn't just focus on the main couple but also expands with tribe interactions, seasonal changes, and new enemies. ### Areas of Concern However, I did find myself questioning some of the MC's actions. His near-saintly demeanor can feel a bit unrealistic, and his tendency to adopt every orphaned child he comes across, while sweet, can become overwhelming. The sheer number of adopted children detracts from the central relationship and from any other characters. I also found that the secondary couple was a bit odd, and I understand why some readers might feel uncomfortable with it. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers may find the relationship between Hong Chi and one of the MC's children to be quite disturbing, as it borders on grooming. There are also instances of the MC manipulating the ML into acts of kindness and then praising him, which is hypocritical. ### Final Verdict "Fire Dragon Song" is a unique novel that may not appeal to everyone. While the world-building and the central romance are captivating, the MC's behavior and the questionable secondary relationship may deter some readers. I'd recommend it to those who enjoy slice-of-life elements mixed with adventure, but be prepared for some potentially uncomfortable themes. I'd say it's a solid 3 out of 5 stars.
