Daily Life of the Wealthy Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Daily Life of the Wealthy "Daily Life of the Wealthy" is a completed original web novel currently being translated and I went into it with mixed expectations. The premise of a reborn protagonist atoning for his past sins within a complex family dynamic intrigued me, and I was eager to see how the author would handle the "slice of life" genre with a dramatic twist. Overall, I found it to be an engaging, though imperfect, read. ### First Impressions The initial chapters drew me in with the novelty of a gong protagonist, something I don't often encounter. The story kicks off with our MC's rebirth into his six-year-old self, giving him a second chance to right the wrongs of his previous life. His determination to cherish and protect the Mu family, whom he once destroyed, sets the stage for a journey filled with emotional complexities and intricate schemes. However, as I progressed, I found myself occasionally lost in the web of relationships and the sheer volume of characters. ### What Works Well I particularly enjoyed the MC's growth throughout the story. His cunning and manipulative nature, honed from his past life, are now channeled towards protecting those he cares about. It's a fascinating dynamic, and I appreciated that the author allowed him to be morally grey without turning him into a villain. The relationship between the MC and the ML is also a highlight. It develops naturally from childhood friendship to a deep and understanding love, with the ML acting as a grounding force for the MC's sometimes obsessive tendencies. I also found the side characters compelling, particularly Mrs. Mu, whose kindness and strength add depth to the narrative. ### Areas of Concern While I enjoyed many aspects of the novel, I did find some areas that could have been improved. The plot, at times, felt disjointed, with abrupt transitions and unresolved plot points. I also felt that some of the character arcs were underdeveloped. Additionally, the dog blood drama occasionally felt excessive and unnecessary, detracting from the more heartwarming aspects of the story. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers might be put off by the engagement arc, which leads to the ML leaving the MC. The MC suffers more in that scenario, but it is not a fun or easy read. Another point that might turn off some readers is the coldness of the MC's father. ### Final Verdict Despite its flaws, "Daily Life of the Wealthy" is a worthwhile read for those who enjoy stories with complex family relationships, cunning protagonists, and a touch of drama. While the plot may be uneven and some characters underdeveloped, the emotional depth and unique premise make it stand out from other rebirth stories. I would recommend it with the caveat that it's not a light and fluffy read, but rather a journey filled with both heartwarming moments and heart-wrenching decisions.
