Slava is an old man. On the verge of death, he has only two regrets; not perfecting his Martial Arts that had been passed down by his Master, and leaving his adopted daughter, as well as disciple, the Elf Alma, alone. His two dying wishes that he makes to her are that she take the hidden scroll of the school and learn its secrets, and that she would love, have a family, and be happy in his stead.
But Slava is reborn as an Elf, and with the same first name too! Being told that he was named after the only master of “Alma-sama”, it appears that some time had passed and his adopted daughter had become a very important person!

## My Thoughts on Bu ni Mi wo Sasagete Hyaku to Yonen. Elf de Yarinaosu Musha Shugyou (LN)
This web novel, "Bu ni Mi wo Sasagete Hyaku to Yonen. Elf de Yarinaosu Musha Shugyou (LN)," presents an intriguing premise: a reincarnated martial arts master starting a new life as an elf. With a blend of action, comedy, and fantasy, it certainly piqued my interest. However, after diving into the available content, I've formed a somewhat mixed opinion.
### First Impressions
The initial chapters definitely grabbed me. The idea of an experienced warrior navigating the world as a young elf is inherently appealing. I was eager to see how the protagonist, Slava, would utilize his past life's skills and knowledge in this new context. The early fight scenes were also well-described and engaging, setting a promising tone.
### What Works Well
The fight choreography is a strong point. I enjoyed how the author depicted the battles, focusing on technique and skill rather than over-the-top magical abilities. The protagonist's martial arts prowess is a definite draw, and the initial cast of characters shows promise for development and depth. The story keeps the cast fairly small at first, allowing them some depth and personality which I found to be a good move.
### Areas of Concern
My main reservation revolves around the protagonist's characterization. While the premise suggests a mature, experienced individual, his actions and inner monologues sometimes feel contradictory. The constant reminders of his age and "grandfatherly" perspective can become repetitive and, at times, undermine his credibility. I also noticed a recurring theme of him being oblivious to the romantic interests of those around him, which feels like a worn-out trope that clashes with his supposed maturity.
### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some readers have pointed out inconsistencies in the protagonist's behavior, particularly regarding combat situations. Despite his extensive martial arts background, he occasionally makes basic mistakes that seem out of character, given his experience. This can lead to a sense of frustration and a disconnect from the character's supposed wisdom and battle-hardened nature.
### Final Verdict
"Bu ni Mi wo Sasagete Hyaku to Yonen. Elf de Yarinaosu Musha Shugyou (LN)" has the potential to be a truly enjoyable read. The action sequences are well-crafted, and the premise is certainly unique. However, the inconsistencies in the protagonist's characterization and the sometimes-repetitive nature of the narrative hold it back from reaching its full potential. I'd recommend it to readers who enjoy martial arts-focused stories with a touch of fantasy, but with a word of caution regarding the protagonist's occasionally frustrating behavior. It's a decent read overall, but not without its flaws.
