## My Thoughts on Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling
"Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling" is a quick transmigration novel I jumped into with a mix of curiosity and caution, given the mixed reviews. I've read my fair share of QT stories, and I'm always on the lookout for something that can really grab my attention. This one, while not a complete miss, definitely had its ups and downs.
### First Impressions
Initially, I was intrigued by the "older brother" trope hinted at in the title. The first few chapters were promising, with a clear reason for the MC's transmigration and a well-translated introduction. However, I quickly noticed the pacing felt a bit off. The MC seemed to accept the system a little too easily, and the romance in the initial arcs felt rushed and somewhat unnatural. I was ready for some face-slapping but it took a long time to get there.
### What Works Well
As I continued, I found that some arcs were significantly better than others. The later arcs, particularly the final "explanatory" world, stood out. The author weaves Chinese myths together in a compelling way, and the shift to the ML's perspective added an interesting layer to the story. I also appreciated that, despite the ML being a powerful "golden finger," the MC generally accomplished her tasks on her own. This prevented her from feeling like a damsel in distress, which is always a plus in my book.
### Areas of Concern
My biggest issue, and one echoed by other readers, is the pacing and the chapter length. While the longer arcs allowed for more fleshed-out plots, they also suffered from what felt like unnecessary filler. The chapters themselves are quite short, making the 70-80 chapter arcs feel drawn out and tedious. I found myself skipping sections, hoping to get to the meat of the story, which was a bit disappointing. Also, the initial arcs were not that exciting, and the counterattacks seemed rather plain.
### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some of the reviews contain spoilers regarding the MC and ML's original lives. Apparently, the MC was a godly arrow and the ML was a sun god. She shot him down and he waited for her at the river of forgetfulness.
### Final Verdict
Overall, "Boss-gege Excessive Spoiling" is a mixed bag. While the later arcs and the overarching mythology are interesting, the pacing issues and rushed romance in the earlier arcs detract from the experience. It's a decent read if you're looking for something to pass the time, but there are definitely better quick transmigration stories out there. I'd say give it a try, but be prepared to skim through some of the less engaging sections. I'd give it a 3/5.
