Apostle of the Gods Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

## My Thoughts on Apostle of the Gods "Apostle of the Gods" promised a blend of action, fantasy, and school life, a combination that always piques my interest. After diving in and considering the experiences of other readers, here's my take on this ongoing web novel. ### First Impressions Initially, I was intrigued by the premise of a reincarnated sage navigating academy life. The early chapters hinted at a potentially interesting story, but as I progressed, I found myself grappling with some of the issues raised by other readers. ### What Works Well Despite some reservations, the novel does have its moments. Some appreciate the unique take on the "teacher/sage" trope, particularly the structured plot. The interactions between the MC and certain characters, specifically Xenovia and Arti, have been highlighted as standouts, with their intelligence and presence adding depth to the narrative. The author's worldbuilding and character concepts are fairly well-executed, at least to begin with. ### Areas of Concern However, the novel seems to stumble in its execution. A recurring criticism is the repetitive nature of the writing. Information is often reiterated multiple times, slowing down the plot's progression considerably. The protagonist's internal monologues and dialogues often feel redundant, making the reading experience tedious at times. Another major issue is the perceived lack of depth in character development. Some feel the characters are bland and that the MC acts naively. This detracts from the overall engagement with the story. Others have pointed out that the MC's power and training don't translate effectively into fight scenes, making him seem less capable than expected. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers have expressed frustration with the MC's constant denial of his past life and the early reveal of his identity as a reincarnated sage to other characters, which diminishes the impact of this plot point. ### Final Verdict Overall, "Apostle of the Gods" has potential, but it's currently hampered by repetitive writing, shallow character development, and a slow-moving plot. While some elements, like specific character interactions and the initial premise, are promising, the execution needs significant improvement. As it stands, I'd rate it a 2.5/5. It's not terrible, but it needs a lot of work to truly shine.
