## My Thoughts on 11/23 "11/23" promised a rollercoaster of emotions, and for the most part, it delivered. As a sequel to "23:11," it picks up with our main characters facing the fallout from their previous encounters, and the journey is anything but smooth. While I found myself completely invested in their story, there were a few bumps along the way that kept it from being a perfect read. ### First Impressions Going in, I was immediately drawn to the realistic portrayal of the characters. The author does a great job of making them feel like real people with flaws, insecurities, and complex emotions. The male lead, in particular, is quite engaging, with his narcissist jokes and expressive personality adding a layer of humor to the often-heavy themes. ### What Works Well The strength of this novel lies in its character development, particularly the female lead. Her struggles feel authentic, and her journey to overcome her own insecurities is compelling. The author masterfully crafts a narrative where the biggest obstacles are not external antagonists but the characters' internal battles. I also appreciated the focus on slice-of-life elements and the absence of overly dramatic plot devices, allowing the story to unfold in a natural and believable way. The romance felt earned, with both characters growing and evolving throughout the story. I found myself rooting for them, even when they were at their most frustrating. ### Areas of Concern While I enjoyed the overall story, there were moments where I felt the female lead's actions were a bit frustrating. Her initial reluctance and constant pushing away of the male lead, despite his obvious sincerity, tested my patience. This aspect did detract slightly from my enjoyment, though I understood the reasoning behind her actions. ### ⚠️ Spoiler Warning Some readers may find the resolution of the female lead's father's character arc a bit rushed and out of character. His sudden change of heart felt somewhat contrived and didn't quite align with his previous behavior. ### Final Verdict Overall, "11/23" is a worthwhile read, especially if you enjoy character-driven stories with a healthy dose of romance, drama, and slice-of-life elements. Despite a few minor flaws, the well-developed characters, realistic portrayal of relationships, and emotional depth make it a compelling and enjoyable novel. I would recommend giving it a try, especially if you've read the prequel, "23:11."
